This article and video walks through the full process of getting small group, community-rated medical quotes in Plansight. The goal is to show how the pieces fit together and how quickly you can move from an employer profile to a complete set of quotes and presentation pages.
Start the RFP
From the employer profile, start a new RFP and choose an effective date. The effective date and state matter, since community-rated quotes are state-specific. Save and continue.
Select benefits and confirm community rated quoitng
Choose medical benefits and indicate whether the group currently has community-rated plans. If they do, confirm the current effective date. Much of the employer information, like address and SIC code, is already filled in. The brokerage NPN is validated during this step so carriers can return rates.
Define plan options
Select how many plan options you want to offer. This is important because it drives how plans are grouped later and how the census is related.
Upload and validate the census
Upload the census using the provided template or your own file. Map the data if needed, then let the system validate employee and dependent information. Once confirmed, submit the census to run rates.
Run rates and review quotes
Plansight runs community-rated rates by validating rating areas and the employee census. When complete, current plans are selected first, and renewal plans are automatically identified. You can review rate changes down to the individual level.
Add alternative quotes
If you want additional options, add community-rated quotes from other carriers. Use filters like carrier, network, or deductible to quickly narrow the list. You can group plans into option one and option two to control how they appear.
Review the presentation
As quotes are added, Plansight automatically builds the presentation pages. Current, renewal, and alternative plans are organized and ready to review without extra setup.
This workflow keeps small group community-rated quoting structured and efficient, from the initial RFP through finalized presentation pages.
