Use the search box at the top of every page. Type three or more letters of a company or renewal name and Plansight shows the matching companies, each with its renewals listed right underneath, along with where each renewal stands and how many open tasks are waiting on it. Click a result and you're there, from whatever page you're on.
Where to find it
It's in the top navigation bar, at the top right of every page in Plansight, with a magnifying glass and the words Search Companies and Renewals. At rest it blends into the bar. Hover over it or click into it and it opens up.
How to use it
- Click the search box at the top of any page.
- Type at least three letters of a company name or a renewal name. Results appear as you type.
- Narrow the list with the chips at the top of the panel: All, Companies or Renewals. Each chip shows how many results it holds.
- Click a result to open it. Or use the arrow keys to move through the list and press Enter to open the highlighted row.
- Press Esc to close the panel and clear the box, or click the X in the box to clear it and start a new search.
What you'll see in the results
Company rows
Each company shows its name, with the letters you typed in bold, then a line like Company · Client · UT · 240 EEs · Renews January: its client status, state, employee count and renewal month. Clicking a company opens its Employer Profile.
Renewal rows
A company's renewals sit indented right underneath it, each showing its name and effective date (Renewal · Effective 1/1/27) plus a status pill:
- Active: sent to market and still open. Opens on Market Response.
- Past Due: sent to market and the effective date has passed. Opens on Market Response.
- Draft: benefits are marked for marketing but it hasn't been sent yet. Opens in the RFP Builder so you can pick up where you left off.
- Not Marketed: nothing is marked for marketing, and it hasn't been sent; for example, a community-rated group holding its current plans and the incumbent's renewal. Opens on Market Response, where its quotes live.
- Elected: the election is made and the renewal is closed. Opens on Market Response.
These are the same words and icons the Jump back in tiles on your dashboard use, so a renewal reads the same way in both places.
Open tasks
When quotes are waiting on you, a row carries an amber badge like 3 open tasks. Click the badge, not the row, and Plansight takes you to the Tasks page with that company already filtered in (and that renewal too, if you clicked a renewal's badge). The number on the badge matches the number of rows you'll land on.
Good to know
- It searches names only. Company names and renewal names. It doesn't search contacts, carriers, plans or uploaded documents.
- Three letters minimum. Nothing happens until you've typed three characters.
- Every word you type narrows the list. Typing "cache valle" finds Cache Valley Foods, not every company with "Valley" in its name. Partial words work, and capitals don't matter.
- A matching company brings its renewals with it. Search for a company and its renewals show up underneath even when the renewal names don't contain your search term.
- Best matches come first. Names that start with what you typed rank highest, then whole-word matches, then companies and renewals you own.
- The panel shows up to 8 companies and up to 3 renewals per company. If you don't see the one you want, add another word to narrow it down.
- Elected renewals stay in search for 30 days after the election, so you can get back to the one you just closed. After that they drop out of search. You can still open them from the company's profile.
- You see what you're allowed to see. Results follow the same office and region access as your company list. If your account is limited to certain offices, search shows companies in those offices, companies with no office assigned, and companies you own.
- Your brokerage's own companies only. A company another brokerage has shared with you doesn't appear in quick search. Open it from your company list.
- Templates and test RFPs never appear in results.
- There's no keyboard shortcut to jump into the box. Click it to start. Once you're in it, the arrow keys, Enter and Esc do the rest.
- The Tasks page opens on the Plan Groups tab for everyone, which is where the work behind those open-task badges lives.
That's it: type, click, you're there. If you can name it, you can get to it from any page.
