Section header pages are the divider pages that print in front of each benefit section of a presentation. Some brokers love them. Others never want them, especially on big presentations where they add a page per benefit to every printed copy. One switch on your presentation template turns them all off at once, so every new presentation built from that template comes out without them. The same switch sits on each presentation's Settings tab too, for the presentations you already have.

Where to find it

  • On a template: Templates > Presentation, open the template, then the Home tab. The switch is Show Section Header Pages, right below Show Addendum Pages.
  • On one presentation: open the presentation, then the Settings tab. The checkbox is Show Section Header Pages, below Show Addendum Pages.

Turn section headers off for a whole template

  1. Go to Templates > Presentation and open the template you want to change.
  2. On the Home tab, switch Show Section Header Pages off.
  3. Click Save Changes.

From then on, new presentations built from that template start with section header pages turned off.

Turn section headers off on a presentation you already have

  1. Open the presentation and go to the Settings tab.
  2. Uncheck Show Section Header Pages.
  3. Click Save.

Good to know

  • It's on by default. Every template and every presentation keeps its section header pages until someone turns the switch off. Nothing changes on its own.
  • Both kinds of section header go. The switch covers the automatically generated divider pages and any section header document you uploaded and picked on the Section Headers tab.
  • Your Section Headers tab choices are kept. Turn the switch back on and each benefit's section header comes back exactly as you set it up.
  • The pages are hidden, not deleted. They still show in the presentation editor, toggled off. Want one back? Toggle that page on in the editor and it prints, while the rest stay off.
  • Page numbers stay in order. Hidden section headers drop out of the print and the PDF, and the footer page numbers run straight through with no gaps.
  • Which new presentations follow the template. The presentation Plansight creates automatically with a new RFP takes the template's setting. When you use Add Presentation, the form has the same Show Section Header Pages checkbox, so glance at it before you click Save.
  • Changing a template doesn't reach back. Presentations you already built, and already sent, keep their section headers. Use the Settings tab switch on those.
  • Swapping templates moves the switch. When you pick a different Presentation Theme on a presentation's Settings tab, the checkbox changes to match the new template. Click Save to keep it.
  • Which template a new presentation starts on can be set per employer, office or region. Put a template with section headers off on one office, and that office's new presentations come out without them. See How do I set default templates for an employer, office, or region?

Set it once on the template, and the presentations that follow come out the way you want them.
