This article walks you through how to upload a standard census for community-rated small-group medical quoting. The video below shows the full workflow inside the RFP Wizard.
When your RFP includes Medical and the group meets the community-rated size rules, you'll be asked whether the employer currently has community-rated plans. Answer yes or no based on the group's situation. You'll also confirm a few details such as the group's location, NPN information for pulling UnitedHealthcare rates, and the current plan effective dates.
From there, you'll define how many medical plan options you want to include and upload your census. You can download the PlanSight census template or use your own. Drag and drop your file into the uploader, choose the correct tab if the file has multiple sheets, and apply it to the ACA model.
If you're using your own census structure, you'll map your headers before continuing. Plansight will validate the data and give you a chance to fix anything before you publish the census and pull rates. Once the system processes the file, you'll see the available plans, your current plans, and any renewal plans we're able to detect.
From there, you can select your current plan options, source alternatives, and build the quotes you need — everything gets compared back to current automatically.
As shown in the video, this gives you a fast, flexible way to upload a census and run small-group community-rated medical quotes.
