Handling Unique Rate Structures with Ease in PLANSIGHT

In PLANSIGHT, we understand that not all medical, dental, and vision plans fit traditional rate structures. While many plans use standard tiered rates like three-tier, four-tier, or even five- and six-tiers, there are cases where plans have unique or unconventional rate structures.

Flexible Support for Any Rate Structure:

Our platform is designed to handle community-rated plans and age-banded plans seamlessly. However, we know there are situations where your plan’s rate structure may not fit the usual mold. You may encounter:

Custom Age Bands: These include four-year age bands or unique age groupings that differ from standard tables.

Gender-Based Rates: Differentiated rates based on sex, with distinct tables for males and females.

Special Rate Tiers: Unique tiers differ from the standard three- to six-tier structures.

Our Solution :

If you have a unique rate table or tier that isn’t directly supported by PLANSIGHT’s standard calculations, we’ve made it simple for you:

1. Choose "Age-Banded": In the rate input section, select the ‘Age-Banded’ option.

2. Upload Your Custom Rate Table: Attach your unique rate table directly to the plan. This document will automatically be included in the presentation for easy reference.

3. Input the Total Monthly Cost: Rather than trying to map non-standard rates into traditional tier formats, you simply enter the total monthly cost. The presentation will display the term ‘Age-Banded,’ clearly indicating that rates are based on a custom structure.

This process ensures that even the most unique and complex rate structures can be accommodated without sacrificing accuracy or presentation quality. By allowing you to upload and reference your own rate tables, we provide maximum flexibility for any plan type.
